The Five Pillars of Islam
Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, " Islam is based on five (pillars), testifying the fact that La ilaha illallah wa anna Muhammad-ar-Rasul-ullah [there is no true god except Allah, and Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allah], establishing As-Salat (the prayers), paying Zakat (poor due), the pilgrimage to the House [of Allah (Ka`bah)], and the Saum (fasting) during the month of Ramadan.''Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Alchemy of Heart :: Part 2
Part 2: Introduction and the Disease of Miserliness
Praise is due to the One who has clarified what is needed to purify the heart and adorn it. Praise and peace be upon Muhammad (SAW) and his family as long as he is the means by which it is achieved and grant him safety. The Four Poisons of the Heart
"And keep yourself (O Muhammad!) patiently with those who call on their Lord (your companions who remember their Lord with glorification, praising in prayers, etc., and other righteous deeds, etc.) morning and afternoon, seeking His Face, and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and glitter the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair (deeds) has been lost." The Holy Quran: 18:28.
